Jailed

2011.  A new start. A new year.

It's inevitable.  The end of the year and the feeling that you must come up with a New Year Resolution.  It is the most popular topic right after New Year's.  What's your New Year's Resolution?  Your response can't simply be, I don't have one.  EVERYONE has one.  You must fit in.  So you shout out the first thing that comes to your mind. Or at least that is what I do.  Maybe I am alone in this.

Sure, in the past, I may have thrown an idea or two around for a new year, but never did I actually put them into motion and they come to fruition.  Well folks.  That is about to change.  It is time to get serious.  I am almost 26 years old.  It is high time I act like an adult and outline a plan for the new year. One I will stick to.

As I try and create this list several "typical" responses come to mind.  Lose weight.  Work out.  Although those two things are great and I would love to get serious with a workout program, I find myself wanting something different.  Something unique to me.

Here's what I have so far:

  • Read at least eight books.  They can't be books on a topic like Photography.  But must be simple, fun, and easy reads that are purely for entertainment purposes.

  • Find an interesting and new hobby.  This should not be hard for me.  If you know me at all, you know that I love me a good project!  Let's just say I have dabbled in a lot of things.  Sewing?  Been there.  Embossing?  Done that.  Scrapbooking? Absolutely. Cross stitching, refinishing furniture, etc., etc.

  • P90X. Ok so I will go with the "typical" response and toss a workout program in there.  Jesse, it is time to get serious.  We have farted around long enough with this.  It is time to put the X in P90X.  Tony Horton tried to hire some professionals to do the workout with him, but he couldn't do it.  Well Tony, you will just have to settle for two out of shape married people with four kids.

That's all I got.  I am leaving the list open.  Who knows what might pop up and be added to the list.

It is official.  The list is written.  I am now bound and obligated.  Jailed to these statements.  Only to be released at the completion of all bulleted points.

Have you made your New Year's Resolution yet?
